Stomper: More than anything else, the beginning of negative reactions to earnings misses will signal to me when the market is due for a correction of the recent strong advance. For the past 6 weeks, any and every adverse earnings report has been shrugged off due to "9/11 events". When this ceases, it will be time to look selectively for shorts.

AMAT profits are way down, but that is old news, we need "new" bad news to surface in order to undermine the stock price.

I'm not on the CC, so there is where the cloud could develop.
