OIL:

Nice thought, but I think the oil is closer to Afghanistan than it is Siberia.

However, as others have speculated, a pipeline through
Afghanistan with royalties to a new Afghan government, may
be part of the agenda for after the present war.

In fact it might be THE major item to be accomplished as a by-product of this war!

Russia wants high oil prices as much as any OPEC member. They need the money. They may play the spoiler for the time being to cozy up to the US. but don't count on them doing it for long. Oil prices will stay down for awhile, but just a matter of time till they head back up.
