wbmw, yes, dell needs to watch it, they are vulnerable, as AMD share grows they get shut out of the market that buys AMD share. This is their risk

So using your model, explain why Dell is the fastest growing box manufacturer, and Gateway, Micron, and IBM have chosen to expose themselves to the same "vunerability."

Bill, Re: "dell needs to watch it, they are vulnerable, as AMD share grows they get shut out of the market that buys AMD share. This is their risk"

Yet their current course of action has been proven to be superior time and again, even despite AMD's gains in some areas.

If other companies like Gateway were concerned about AMD making more gains, they certainly didn't act on it when they dumped AMD as a supplier.

Dell has always been intc exclusive, has worked closely and well with intc, is now taking market share - as is intc - there could be a correlation. Maybe that is why their competitors are becoming intc exclusive too.
