Constantine, Re: "it's not a matter of popularity. It's a matter of lack of choice and intel propaganda."

That's been the AMDroid party line for as long as I can remember. "If people knew what they were buying, then no one would ever want an Intel system." That same logic applied even before the Athlon when AMD was sporting the K5 and K6 products. People said that the price/performance was so far superior in an AMD system, that people would eventually realize this, and never buy an Intel system.

Back then when AMD didn't have the performance, the AMDroids said that most people didn't need the performance. Now when AMD has the performance, the AMDroids say that the 5% or 10% that AMD is ahead makes all the difference in the world. No matter what happens, the AMDroids have a response, and most of the time, these responses are inconsistent and lame.

I've heard about your situation plenty of times, and I know that you are sour because your company's software runs so much more slowly on the Intel platform than it does on the AMD platform. But instead of taking the AMDroid way out and taking up arms against Dell for being an Intel-only supplier, maybe you should call that software company whose applications run your business, and tell them it's time to upgrade.
