Looks like the Taliban are being revealed to the world for what they are: a bunch of small-time piss-ants led by bin-Laden, who turns out to be just another of history's small-time piss-ants filled with himself and delusions of grandeur.

When the WTC was bombed, I remember telling my wife that: "These a--holes have really stepped over the line this time. They don't know it yet, but they just bit off more than they can chew." Now it looks like they're going to see those 72 virgins even sooner than I hoped. So be it.

Regards,

Knip

I think that the democratic victories in NJ and VA were pretty much expected. I guess I don't consider the democrats to have fresh ideas here, but I would agree that the republicans need better more moderate candidates.

Making airport security workers federal employees with the associated lifetime tenure and gold plated benefits doesn't seem like the right thing to do to me. In fact the whole airport security stuff seems to be going in the wrong direction to me. I want to have travel be fast and efficient as before. National Guards on duty with unloaded weapons isn't providing additional security.

I would screen all of the checked baggage better, require people who check bags to arrive >30 minutes before departure and increase cockpit door security. I would worry less about passengers bringing pocket knives on board.

I'd check with Cary, he may have voted for Tom Campbell a moderate republican that represented silicon valley in the US house.
