While Intel relies on high clock speeds of up to 2000 MHz, AMD's mature chip design gives it an added edge."

Steve, I'm willing to concede this is now the case but put things in perspective. Your are looking at the first version of P4 on it's original process. Intel is only a few weeks away from introducing a new version on a new process. Meanwhile Athlon has gone through 3 major revisions and AMD has mortgaged their future .13u process gains with their current offerings. All that to essentially pull even with Intel or maybe a tiny edge. P4 will double it's cache, move to a faster process and soon enable Jackson Technology which will add ~35% to performance even without a clock or cache increase. So gloat while you can because it won't last long.
