Great to see a French view. They are the ones still dealing with Iraq and pulling all the oil out of it. (total oil) I believe is one of the French oil companies doing business in Iraq. Kazakhstan.oil has been in negotiations for over twenty years by all international oil companies.. Just in the last year or two a couple of major oil companies abandoned trying to run a pipe line out of the country. to come with the bs and give it any credibility is of concern.

We need to stay focused , we are there because they destroyed nyc. and killed thousands of innocent people.

RE:The failure of negotiations is directly connected with the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon.

Seems like the Taliban and Al Qaeda need to work on their negotiating skills. Killing about 6000 people because they were unhappy about a business deal is not a good way to make friends and influence people, IMHO.

NEW FACTS: TERRORIST ACTS IN AMERICA TOOK PLACE AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL NEGOTIATIONS WITH KABUL

If what the authors say is true, then this has got to be better than the best mystery novels written. It has all the ingredients of Whodunnit, Howdunnit, And Whydunnit: Add to that the fudd created about the radical muslims hating our way of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (or is it OIL).

These words are taken from the book "Bin Laden: The Forbidden Truth", which was written by two French authors. It is written in the book that America's largest oil corporations - which were closely linked with Bush's government, were very active in the republic of Kazakhstan. But the oil pipelines are controlled by Russians there. That is why the corporations had an eye on Afghanistan. The negotiations with the Taliban actually started in February, when George W. Bush took over as president. The Talibs were ready to conduct negotiations to deliver Bin Laden and asked to acknowledge their regime on the diplomatic level in return.

Again, IF TRUE, then we have our oil pipelines at the cost of all the life and property lost in WTC together with the drain on our economy of at least a 100 Billion. Thats a deal the devil would love to make any day.

Hi, Poet - I think it's worthwhile to remember that there are still some distinct rivalries in the former Soviet Union.

Anybody can write a book; anybody can be sponsored to write a book, to "make a case" for any frivolous story you want.

Putin's recent alliance with the United States is by no means universally accepted in his homeland. If it is, in fact, sincere, it is an act of some political courage.

There are many who would love to see the relationship between the US and Russia fail (or not to exist at all); at least half of our inquiries should be devoted to the bona fides of the author. Reliance on such material, without strong corroboration from others, is very risky.

Regards,
