Tito, No doubt about it, AMAT is a tier 1 stock in most every respect. I believe it's certainly worthy of above average valuations. I'm still kicking myself for not holding on to the shares I bought at the recent bottom. I think there's only a slim chance we're going to see those prices again. I do believe however that given the existing economic and sector outlook coupled with its current (over)valuation, Applied is going to have a difficult time breaking above $45 over the near term. I plan to continue trading the ranges and hope to have at least one more chance to begin establishing a long position closer to $30. Although I might never get that price outright, I might be able to (in effect) obtain an equal or better cost basis through short term trading. I believe there's still some time left before AMAT will begin its eventual ascent from current levels. So, back to the question: Is this stock now overvalued? Well, yes and no, depending on your time frame and expectations of future returns.
