Cui Bono? - The Carlyle Group

Pearly_Button,

Re: That was also about the time the British created Northern Ireland. They had to mess big time with that border too.

Interestingly, about the same time the Russians and the British decided to add the "stem" of the headwaters of the Oxus (Amu Darya) River to the "leaf" of the rest of Afghanistan. Almost a picaresque bit of whimsy.

Re: It's been shown clearly to me that this so called "great game" was a real dumb idea. I don't recommend it.

Now, now. You're just not being a good sport this evening. <vbg>

Today, the great game takes many different dimensions. The Bush coziness with Vladimir Putin is an interesting moment of realpolitik. I highly recommend that those who are interested in the study of business called "cui bono?" or "who benefits?" take a peek at this post. The Carlyle Group has been on my radar for a while, and it appears that they've decided that the scrutiny of too many inquiring minds isn't in their best interests.

Haim puts it: Well........... many complained that Clinton run a corrupt business ................. Oh Gee ....... I am now speechless

A better response might be the one from Claude Raines, in Casablanca....... I'm shocked, shocked that there's (corruption) going on here!
