I found them to be interesting and thought provoking. Also, I found the answers to your specific questions lacking. Having said that, I also thought Amein made a valid point when he suggests you're mostly going out of your way to find issues within the Koran to find fault with. While not examining other areas which point a positive light toward the religion. If the same kind of scrutiny were applied to other religions, I doubt they would pass the test with complete flying colors too. Additionally, I believe most followers of a particular religion don't try and memorize, read, and behave exactly like every word which is contained in their holy book the way you've suggested. Most followers simply try and follow the spirit behind the message, and try and align that spiritual message with their conscience desires. Where a conflict exists in a particular phrase or word, they find a way to blend their thinking mind, with their spiritual beliefs. There are many exceptions of course, and we're seeing those exceptions manifested in the Muslim world today. As we've seen manifested in other religions throughout history. This war in Afghanistan, on the surface, would appear to be a war about religious beliefs. At least the major players in Afghanistan would like us to believe that. However, like nearly every war in the past, it's actually a war about power and control. Ben Laden wants to control the worlds oil supplies, and he sees religion as his conduit toward that endeavor. He will fail, and the ignorant followers who blindly follow him will meet their fate in the afterlife.
