Banned Banned Paul the Quarter Cocked Anal Bum Cover-- Re: That is 1.70 Amps, you nit picking moron - no matter HOW YOU WANT to do your anal-licking tap dance.

The role of obfuscating prick suits you quite well-- not that anyone here should care too much about leakage or technical aspects of caching vis-a-vis his or her Intel investments.

Paul, Intel investors, looks like [H]ard|OCP got ahold of an Intel roadmap. It has the telltale blue and orange look, layout and legend Intel uses. It's just a small part, missing footnotes 1 through 5, and many pages I'm sure that show mobile, workstations and servers. 512 KB L2 confirmed for Northwood. These Northwoods should have incredible performance, all the user can want and use. Combine that with the usual infrastructure support Intel gets, and Intel's marketing power and there probably won't be much left for anyone else.

A little investigation into the AMD datasheet. The leakage current is rated at a sleep voltage 1.3V (vs an operating 1.75V), and the Tdie is 50 degress vs 100 for intel.

Therefore if the same criteria are used on the intel CPU (die temperature half the Tjmax, and minimum sleep voltage), then the leakage current would actually be less than the AMD part.
