I don't really believe this has anything to do with religion.

Osama is more a political beast than a religious zealot, in my humble opinion. Sure, Osama is an Islamic fundamentalist but he is masking his true political motives behind the Koran. We have to remember, in the Arab world, there are no alternative channels for political dissent.

So what does Osama do? He becomes a terrorist and acts upon his frustration. And in the process, he becomes the voice of a growing faction of the populace alienated by the ruling autocrats. Terrorism has become an instrument to implement political objectives.
