I follow what you are saying about terms of engagement and have no problem with any of that. This is, however, a disconnect from my statement to Bill. The position of our government is righteous and supported. However, many statements made by Bill have been inflametory and offensive toward innocent people. This is unjust and would not be supported. In addition he insists on mischaracterizing the enemy. The result of this type of behavior can alienate intelligent people or actually throw them to an opposition. I have spoken to him about this as a friend on several occassions.

He has made it clear more than once that he would prefer to put all Arabs, Muslims, and anyone else he can think of that is not his exact political demographic on the list, and thus I consider his approach "lynch mob" mentality. It is, IMO, destructive of the solid foundation that has been laid to justify our campaign against the Al-Quaida. This type of attitude, if it caught on, could cause a serious backlash of anti-support toward our campaign. I am sure that if he could see how it weakens the resolve of our efforts he would take a different approach. I have failed to make this point with him....and I have given up trying.
