You just don't get it. Being afraid has nothing to do with being EVIL. NOTHING Because you are afraid to get on a plane at JFK does not make you an evil person. OBL is not a bastard because he is or isn't afraid. He is a bastard because he is cruel, vicious, and murderous against people and values which we hold dear. We know he does not fear death. We know he has chosen the most dangerous life imaginable, and has survived Russian assassination attempts several times. But the fact that he is not afraid because he is a fanatic does not gain him any points for what he is. Does it matter to you somehow that he should be afraid when he is murdering people. Well, tough. He is not afraid. Lack of bravery is separate from being evil. Don't confuse such a vicious person with your next door neighbour who actually is afraid of death, but is a decent, loving person even when he whimpers...
