Cowardice is a vice, and may contribute to a broader bad character. You are merely speculating about whether or not he fears death, or how dangerous his life is. Remember, he is surrounded by a dedicated entourage, in constant hiding, and, until lately, under the protection of the Taliban.

Well, I'm not so sure about that, psychologically. I think eval does arise to some extent from various fears within us. Fear of failure, failure of inadequacy, fear of being dissed, whatever. I think there is often, perhaps usually, a link.
