the problem with "bare bones" systems is that they try to pass off these brands of RAM and other components that you've never heard of. I actually spent 2 hours assembling parts for my next machine and paid for everything. I then went over to the tech dud for advice and saw the expression on his face when he saw the RAM I bot...I then got in the returns line and took it all back...everything

there has to be a reason that DELL uses SDRAM, which is very expensive. These other guys were trying to sell me this DDR ram crap, which is like 40 bux for 512

we all want to save money but there is nothing worth having tech troubles and no where to turn for help. I'd prefer that my troubles be the result of the usual..me screwing with upgrades, software, etc
