Tim, Well, I was aware of the need for SRAM in the highest speed cache, but I had hoped that the more compact DRAM would be useable in the L3 to allow more to be on the die. Too bad it is all SRM as that does indeed limit CPU makers. As for speed, it is true that the SRAM is indeed faster. I am not sure of the tech reasons that limit DRAM, I suspect some balance between the time needed to charge those capacitors and the time before they leak away has something to do with it. If you make them charge faster, then they leak away faster and you need more frequent refresh..

As for SI= sewer??
I nver saw any anti Israel comments from Mani, however if I am on a prroject I have barely enough time to read directed posts, let alone read every one, so an comments made could well pass me by unread if they were not made to me. Show me a few and I will see what I can do. No-one would make any anti Israel comments to me, that would start a war as I am in favour of Israel, but I do think that the west bank settlements need to be rethought and money paid by the USA to make them arab again. The major problem is that Israel wants peace and the Arab world does not. It suits the arabs to have the Palestinians living in camps. If they had spread them among the arab worls, full integration, in 1948 we would have peace today. Enough politics.

Bill
