One would be an argument from self defense. You can kill someone who would otherwise kill you. That does not explain why 99+% of people agree with killing the fetus if the mother might otherwise die. Why would people who believe the fetus is a person use your "self defense" argument to kill the fetus rather than the mother. With such an overwhelming percentage, one would think there would be an overwhelming answer. some committed pro-life people might say that it is more like 99% that the fetus is a human being I have never heard a pro life person argue their case because "maybe" the fetus is human, and therefore "maybe" we shouldn't abort it. I am not saying you are being insincere, but there is something about your answer which just doesn't seem to have any conviction. You start with this overwhelming statistic that almost 100% of people believe in killing the fetus if the mother's life is in danger; and you then give these underwhelming reasons: people can kill in self defense (unless they are very young), or...maybe the fetus is not a person. Oh well...
