I don't have a strategy mapped out for bringing democracy to Iraq. Keeping Saddam in power in 1990 and sanctioning the Iraqi public during the decade since makes me think the U.S. government doesn't have one either.

So you, like the US government, has no idea what to do about Saddam. Finally getting to the truth - except for the blaming America for everything part. Of course, I don't know what's best to do about Saddam either. It is a thorny problem. Something needs to be done given his WMD development efforts. The sanctions and occasional bombings over certain issues are at least attempts to do something even if they have been futile.

But why doesn't Chomsky outline how to handle Iraq? Surely he knows what to do - after all he is one of our most brilliant leftist intellectuals who tirelessly campaigns . . . yada, yada, yada!
