I think the questions to ask are 'what is God?' - is it a Supreme Being? what form of being? Is it embodied by physical matter? particle physics? Nobody knows. It is omnipotent, omnipresent - how can that be? What is prayer? how does one pray? to whom? why does one pray? Does prayer help? Is God listening? I don't know the answers. Personally, I define God as Truth (for lack of a better word), and Truth simply IS - and yes, it is in us and all around us. Truth or God does not 'do the right thing' or does His thing'..it simply is. So what is the point of arguing? Here's another way of looking at the 'Conflict'. In our bodies, there are always infections and foreign bodies (in the form of viruses, bacteria or whatever.) Our immune systems sends out white cells to destroy them. Sometimes good cells get destroyed along the way - call it collateral damage if you will. That is what happens to keep us healthy and one can say 'how God intended it to be'. There are no moral issues here. Similary, the Taliban or whatever terrorist group is threatening society. We as a society need to eradicate it for survival. Call it a defence mechanism. That is my simplistic view of things from a simple mind but it helps me sort out the ways of the Universe. Humbly, hkl
