Ilmarinem,

Sad stuffings? Where'd that come from? Isolationism used to be called minding one's own business. There's a famous line in a popular American song of the 1960's. The refrain was:

"If you mind your own business, you won't be minding mine".

It is my understanding that you live in the Baltic. Aren't you somewhat familiar with noisome and hegemonic imperial will of an unsavory neighbor? Don't you think that perhaps meddling isn't the best attribute of human nature? Currently, here stateside, we're presented the opportunity on cable TV to see the story of William Wallace, aka "Braveheart". A classic Hollywood tale of the underdog undeservedly wronged by an imperialist warrior culture from afar. Classic fare. And into the midst of this, we get an "Ad Council" homily to American values. Why do I feel that the truth is elusive? Why do I feel that the Arab-Afghans can relate to William Wallace? Just as millions of Americans can.

All the best, Ray
