Buddy was hilarious...When he came to the Eagles in early 1986, Philly had a running back (Earnest Johnson) who had gained 1000+ yards the previous season. Buddy didn't like him and announced to the press that he would trade him for a six pack of beer and it didn't have to be cold

Too bad he couldn't coach a lick on game day especially on the offensive side. Rumor has it that Jeff Fischer (who was the Defensive Coordinator) would turn down his hearing aid on game day so he didn't have to deal with Buddy.

His best asset was evaluating talent. The Eagles had some of their best drafts ever under him and he had a knack of making stars out of low round picks (i.e. Seth Joyner was a 6th round pick and Clyde Simmons was a 10th round pick in his first draft in 1986)
