He felt a chief positive that the Islamic world could achieve was the setting up of an ecclesiastic council that speaks for the whole.

And you thot only politicans made strange bedfellows.

and this permits a host of bad interpretations, particularly from extremists, who gain most of the publicity.

Shuller has been one of the more proactive ministers in trying to foster Islamic-Christian approachment. And of all the tel-evangelists, he's one of the few that I reasonably trust to be a man of integrity (Billy Grahmn and his son are the others), and not corrupted by financial self-interest.

He met with the Grand Mufti back in Sept, 2000, and apologized for past Christian improprieties during the crusades (not that it was his fault).

And the Grand Mufti seems to be a pretty wise individual in his own right.

Certainly far better than the current Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who was selected by Arafat's folks.

And of course, the Grand Mufti during WWII, Al Husseini, who was a rampant Nazi supporter, actually traveling to Berlin to meet with Hitler and Eichmann.. (and alledgedly related to Arafat, who is reported to be his grand-nephew).

"In 1951, a close relative of the Mufti named Rahman Abdul Rauf el-Qudwa el-Husseini matriculated to the University of Cairo. The student decided to conceal his true identity and enlisted as "Yasser Arafat."

Here's a great photo of Al-Husseini reviewing Bosnian SS troops he personally recruited for Hitler to fight in the Balkans (note the salute).
