RE the Sox stocks, read what CSFB said about KLAC on 10/19. Subsequent to this, on Nov 14 (according to Briefing) they made cautious comments at a SoundView conference. They speak at CSFB's conference Tuesday. I look forward to their being cautious again.

That is a short period of time since November 14 comments. It becomes a matter of "expectations". If by chance they even get slightly more positive based upon any new order flow, the stock may take off. However, if they continue to be cautious, will anyone be suprised?

If the retail sales numbers for this weekend are better than expectations, it could start a broader rally including the semiconductor stocks. So far, what I have read is very positive and that includes sales of electronics, which is directly related to the semiconductor sector.

If we start seeing reports that retailers ordered less than demand (ie. shortages), the rally in the market could be very strong. There will be lots of data to digest in the coming days and weeks. Of course, I am playing the optimistic side near term (with some trading stops).
