bosquedog, just checked my BIOS settings and it seems I lied :-( The CPU is overclocked to 1.065 not 1.1Ghz as I originally posted. Just tested at 1.1Ghz, no change in fan speed, above 1.1 the fan runs faster which is what I was trying to avoid. It's a good compromise with an adequate temperature buffer zone. The memory is overclocked to 7ns (143Mhz) as posted.

Regards,
Nick

Thanks for the great info Nick. It's nice to hear what really works out there. Hopefully, other dual users will post their experiences.
I use motherboard monitor which shows temperature, cpu speed, fan speeds, voltage.

My temperature and rpms are very similar to yours. However, my fan noise is way too much and I just need to decide which new fans to order. I also have an exhaust fan in one of the pci slots and a directional fan pointed at the graphics card but have turned them off until I can get the overall sound reduced.

Again thanks for all the good info and ideas.

Bob

That is HOT: "the CPUs run at 46 - 48C"

My CPUs are running at about 30C. They are 933s. CPUIdle Pro will help to reduce the temperature by a few degrees, but probably not by that much.

SETI@Home is probably a good deal of the problem. I'll bet you see your electrical bill drop if you shut it off. I certainly would not run this with a Pentium IV.
