Kastel, didn't your friends over at the "Booms, Busts, and Recoveries" throw in the towel on economic Armageddon? I'm not so sure that this isn't a bear market fake out, but … if it weren't for those darn happy shoppers.

Data shows customers were out Friday seeking and finding bargains.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Shoppers hit the malls and other stores over the holiday weekend, apparently looking for and finding bargains -- a fact that could limit retailers' already shaky profit outlook.
