Hi Doug,
OT e the Magna Carta was signed in 1228
I know what you mean. We were out walking on what I guess we on this side of the pond we would call some farmers 'back forty' and up on a crossroad of farmers trails is a historic sign post identifying them as ancient Roman Roads. Certainly more mundane than the MC spot but it was a cool feeling none the less.

["...I once ran in a twilight hash race..."]

I had to go back & read that one twice - re: "hash race".

I was thinking Black Afghani & Blond Lebanonese... must of been a late 70's Frat-House flashback (vbg).

Hi Doug,

Buddhist statues of Bamiyan in the 8th Century AD Forgot about those. And now the Taliban has ....
Right now no, however I think that it has in the past....
I think we're on the same page here. Looking at Afghanistan where whimsy allows one to switch sides at the drop of a coin (or for a coin :o) does the US really want to pin hopes or get lastingly involved with such a tribal group. Personally I think not. Cultivating Iran is a better prospect.
