Argument against Satellite: Round trip time is 2 seconds. Bad if your an online gamer.

2) Possible interruptions during severe storms (when you need it most)?

Actually, satellite is probably the most reliable connection during a storm, at least if you live in an area prone to falling trees taking out cable and phone lines. That leaves only the shared bandwidth problem, which is also a problem on cable.
