The carmakers are also sharply increasing the inventory of perfectly fine used cars and trucks that will be very attractive to buyers next year, as the oversupply of good used cars will keep their prices down as well.

I thought (I guess stupidly since I know nothing about business) that interest incentives are a method of discounting, and that stuffing the channel means forcing dealers to take unwanted inventory.
