Exclusive Five-Year Agreement Links 1,500 Sites Across 90 Countries Generating Approximately $125 Million Revenuebiz.yahoo.com VEVEY, Switzerland & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2001--Infonet Services Corp. (NYSE:IN - news; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, has been awarded a five-year multi-service contract by Nestle S.A. of Switzerland, the world's largest food company, to build and maintain their global communications network. Under the terms of this agreement, Infonet's expected revenue will be in excess of $125 million U.S. over the initial five-year term of the contract. This network implementation rollout will link 1,500 Nestle locations worldwide within 90 countries. Nestle has a global strategic business initiative called GLOBE, which stands for global business excellence. The purpose of this initiative is to implement common business processes, common internal and external master data, and a common information systems infrastructure. The standard business framework is based on the mySAP.com application suite. In support of GLOBE, Nestle needs to move from maintaining many individual country networks to a more global communication framework with improved quality of service and consistency, at a competitive price. To achieve this extensive and ambitious undertaking, Nestle executed a competitive bidding process, and Infonet was chosen to provide exclusively a range of network services on a worldwide basis, including: IP, data, remote access, Internet and security, for the GLOBE project. ``As a global consumer products company, we serve our customers and support our personnel wherever they operate,'' stated Chris Johnson, GLOBE program director, Nestec S.A. ``We required a supplier who could provide the global reach and strong product portfolio necessary to partner and become a true global systems integrator to deliver the level of functionality our clients and employees have come to expect. ``Through its multinational capabilities, global network and organization business model, we are confident Infonet is that partner.'' Under the terms of this agreement, Infonet will begin an immediate two-year network migration of 1,500 sites followed by a three-year period of support. Additionally, further requirements are expected to broaden the scope to meet additional worldwide connectivity requirements. ``Now more than ever, companies are turning to Infonet to fulfill their global data networking requirements. We are very pleased to have been chosen by an organization as strong as Nestle, and look forward to creating a globally deployed infrastructure to address their business objectives,'' concluded Jose Collazo, president, chairman and CEO of Infonet.
