How many calories in a pint of B&J's? 2000?

i wouldn't know off hand, but who said anything about eating a pint in one sitting. that's about how much ice cream i eat in a year as i don't have much of a sweet tooth. P-nut butter's another story...

resting pulse for a marathon runner, by the way. Either you run a lot or were born with a very relaxed system

well, i don't run marathons. i think they're an easy way to get injured and don't add much health benefit beyond more moderate running. i run 5-6 miles and play 2 hrs of tennis almost every day (i only run for conditioning and prefer tennis as a sport). resting pulse checked at 37 recently.

in the late 80s, i used to run a lot--up to 100 miles a week. pulse frequently measured below 35--low, but not much of an improvement over current levels on much less strenuous training. that much running is really hard to keep up and takes its toll on the body. ultimately i decided it was counterproductive from a lifetime fitness perspective.

i think running is the greatest, most efficient exercise on the planet. of course, i might prefer swimming if i had a lap pool, as that seems like a great exercise too. bike riding strikes me as time-consuming and somewhat dangerous, although it's a big sport in this town, home of Lance Armstrong. Lance has got to be one of the most aerobically fit individuals ever. not to mention mentally tough.

Mine dips into the low 40's when I run, but never sub 40

wow, mine goes way up! my HRM usually shows 140 when i run.

I'll stick to the apples.

i like dem apples. in general, i like the eating philosophy recommended by this guy amazon.com
