But what is your choose in that instance? Do you deride the person, or simply dismiss the idea? When you dismiss a person, it doesn't encourage looking at the idea you dismiss. And... I find I like from that person you can't call by her chosen name, these days. Ideas as often given by "conservatives". These are odd days. There is no civil war. Get over it. It's done and gone. We protect our freedoms while fighting terrorists, or we don't and sacrifice it all to be "safe". And there is never any good reason to call someone a wrong name that derides them. It doesn't draw attention to a specific thought, but draws attention to them, and your decision to not draw a difference.
