I'll try -g- Climatic problems (whatever the causes are) could quickly become the biggest challenge for survival the human race. Widespread resultant crop failures, droughts, floods, could exacerbate human political problems far worse then the ordinary human condition (ignorance, lack of desire to fix problems, prejudice, etc) Interpretation of available data, for example..whats down to human causes etc can be disputed. This post is not about disputing the data, it's just about accepting what it implies as a real possibility in the very near future. I have been looking around various environmental web sites looking at issues, quickly zapping past those that use words like "enforce" and "Legistlation" because forget it. By the time the courts have finished arguing with all the other political B/S, lobbyists, divisive party line useless arguments have finished... it will have been far to late to do anything. If you look at the data correctly (IMHO) I would say there is a high chance of some near time disasters in the making, if left un attended. A rise of a few cm in mean sea level is a big deal for example. Here is a site that passed my basic test before reading it.cpluhna.nau.edu There has been some fantastic work done collecting unbiased scientific data That with some of the other data I have presented says to me in a loud voice..."it could be worthy of more attention then star wars". Be it flood defenses, or more power distribution during the summer months to allow air conditioning over most of the USA. Not that shirkers should be left off the hook for not addressing their responsibilities btw. I would rather a republican like Bush spearhead and address this type of issue. Rather then just legislation, administrators, and government interference outlawing things "that are not right" that is in fashion here in the UK.
