But you might want to look at comparisons of Duron (64K) cache and Athlon (256K) cache. That's a much more significant jump in cache size, and doesn't gain your first estimate of 10% nor your second estimate of 7%. You're awfully confident on the 30% IPC increase from SMT. Wasn't 30% the ideal-case benefit, rarely achieved, with the overall IPC considerably less?
