Softechie,

I think you're oversimplifying. Enron appears to have engaged in extremely risky financing via energy risk trading. Apparently Fastow (Enron's CFO, until recently), essentially invented this method of financing, or at least took it to a much higher level than anyone had previously.

The last few years of Enron's life will be analyzed and critized for decades. There will be entire college economics and management courses (or at least chapters) dedicated to studying what went wrong at Enron.

Enron isn't coming back.
