Jacob, it's all a question of definitions and book cooking.

If what happened to their once bubble-esque economy & stock market can't be called a depression then I don't have much use for the definition.

indefinitely is a long time?
I dont think the can continue to finesse it in a global synchronized dowturn. their massive savings are a huge cushion though, and the people are very loath to change fast.
