Oh, isn't this exciting!

Maybe someday interrogating prisoners of war can be elevated to the level of a war crime as well, as well as refusing them flowers to go along with their continental breakfast, but until then...we can only dream....

Let's see -- now Capt. Spann caused the revolt by asking a prisoner "Why did you come to Afghanistan?"

Does this make sense to you? It does to me only if you reason from the conclusion 'this must be America's fault somehow'.

Let's remember that the Al Quaeda fighters have signed on to a cult of martyrdom and a number of them have blown up themselves and their captors under the guise of surrendering, even before the prison revolt. The NA should have been more careful searching the prisoners but I guess they've learned their lesson now. They probably won't want to take prisoners at all, which the British press will decry as America's fault. Is already doing just that, in fact. Totally predictable.

"thought to have set off the violence by aggressively interrogating foreign Taliban prisoners and asking, "Why did you come to Afghanistan?". August said their questions were answered by one prisoner jumping forward and announcing, "We’re here to kill you"."

"The Times’s August said Spann subsequently pulled his gun and his CIA colleague shot three prisoners dead in cold blood before losing control over the situation."

"SET OFF" THE VIOLENCE BY ASKING A QUESTION AND NOT KEEPING A LOW PROFILE?

SHOT "IN COLD BLOOD" AFTER THE PRISONES ANNOUNCED "WE'RE HERE TO KILL YOU" AND ATTACKED?

This is goddamn ridiculous....

The Guardian’s Mazar-i-Sharif correspondent said the CIA "operatives had apparently failed on entering the fort to observe the first rule of espionage: keep a low profile".

So I see the Guardian correspondent is an espionage and security expert as well! I am impressed!! Probably as good as their economy experts. (probably the same guys)<s>..

Maybe if there is another Talban prison riot they ought to send in the journalists, they have shown themselves such experts. Only eight killed so far.
