Petz,

I believe Gresham fab was owned solely by Fujitsu.

Petz,

On Gresham fab, I wonder how much is the shell of the fab worth, and if the way it was built lends itself for it to become AMD's Fab 35.

John Re...Now, actually, isn't the plant owned by the joint venture? Or do both AMD and Fujitsu own the fabs that are used in flash production and just "sell" the output to the joint venture, which sells them to customers?<<<<<<<<<

AFAIK AMD provided the engineering and Fujitsu provided the manufacturing. Like Via designing, and USMC manufacturing chips. Both must have submitted bills for their share of costs, and Fujitsu and AMD split the profits. Amd has been getting more aggressive lately, producing or starting to produce flash by themselves. So maybe Fujitsu's lack of cash was holding AMD back.

Petz,
re:Gresham

Looks like Fujitsu owns it 100% and will close it.

Period.
