Thanks for an article which provides a clearer statement of AMD's role wrt the Gresham Fab.

So, Fujitsu was basically competing with FASL so the closure of the Gresham Fab is good for the flash market (reduces supply), FASL, and thus AMD? Of course, news about the extended slump projected for flash is not good. But this market should be more elastic than CPUs - lower prices and greater flash densities should result in greater applications. Of course, this is bad news for the 670 employees and is a bad ending to Fujitsu's short adventure in overseas production.
