I would rather see a flat tax. As far as the sense of "fairness" I think that can be addressed by raising the income level for ANY taxes to kick in. For example, I don't think a family of 4 making 30,000 should be paying income taxes.

I like your idea about the social security deduction on the check. It's coming from the employee anyway. Might as well disabuse him of the notion that the employer is "paying" half.

I am also for eliminating all disincentives on investments, such as capital gains.

I disagree with you on lowering the tax burden now. The economy NEEDS stimulus and the way to it is to give back the people's money.

Congress should re-prioritize their SPENDING. I think we have more than enough money for cruise missles, bombers and other military buildup.

(I heard a report the other day that the FEDERAL gov't is the ONLY entity in the US that has not layed off workers or even reduced hiring)
