Bill, re: Shuttle SV24 is a bit boxy

Yes, it does seem a bit boxy at 6.7" x 7.5" x 10.6" or a volume of 0.31 cf. It doesn't seem wide enough to use as a monitor base.

Compaq's Evo D500 has dimensions that might be more useful: 13x14x4 in or a volume of 0.42 cf. (The Evo D500 was reviewed by PCMag in most recent issue and can be found online here: pcmag.com

Compaq's system costs $1,204 (with 15" monitor) compared to $250 for the Shuttle plus cost of drives, CPU, memory, KB & mouse and monitor.

The Shuttle's power supply is a little different and is located at the front of the case as can be seen in this photo:

EDIT: From BB comments by the author - "The PSU is a mini 150Watts installed in the front."

re: "They should also use inches as well as MM on the dimensions for those who are unaware of their 25MM=1" tables."

Aren't we already converted to metric? <vbg> I don't think I have even read recent statements of when the US "plans" to convert.
