KayCee I have the same setup purchased at the same time. I have been unable to get my Altec Lansing 495 usb sound system to install the software needed. I get a message that my usb sound device is incompatible. The speakers do work, just not all the bells and whistles. I also tried the upgrade and was having plenty of problems so I went back and let the XP upgrade disk wipe out the previous (win98se) system and went the new install route. I've gone through the install 3 or 4 times now and have yet to get system restore to successfully take me back to a restore point so finally disabled it. Have you tried the restore program? I'm using Norton Systemworks 2002 and I think WinDoctor is the culprit that's hosing system restore. If XP is as stable as it's supposed to be I'm still happy to have done it. So far, so good. tc :-)
