jttmab, my two cents....Barcelona over the Costa del Sol in a flash and drive down the Costa Brava to Barcelona if you can and stop at Cadaques. I´m sending you this message from a cyber cafe in Barcelona right now.....best city in Europe for my money but it helps to know a local Catalan to show you around.

I find many Americans are just plain angry about something or another and it drives their lives...

Americans work very long hours, jtmab, and many people must spend hours in a car commuting to and from
work. Under these conditions, I think it would be difficult to remain in a good mood for a very long period of time.

Have you been to Turkey? I'm suppose to go next year.
