<LOL, he's in the north of France! My imagination suggests he is staying in some fancy chateau and hunting wild boar.>

For wild boar, nothing is better than late night shoots around 'Mount Pleasent' very near to Islamabad

In France it is Partridge & Pheasant. Partridge, in the crops from October to late November. Pheasant in the woods from early November to January. The usual regions is the Normandy / Vexin 1h.30 west from Paris.

Season is from October, to January

France is a country of migrations and winter stay for ducks proceeding from Scandinavia and Occidental Russia. One can go for Wildfowl (ducks)with best runs in October and November. Around la baie des Veys in Normandy.

With decoys and calling ducks in the ponds it is common to spend the full night at the hutte, most of these huttes are very rustic installations. No chateaus for me.
