Why should this be surprising? The vast majority of Christians and Jews take the same attitude towards the Bible.

Yes IGIT, God revealed his word to the Prophet Muhammad pbuh... same as He did with Moses and Issa (Jesus)... the Qur'an states and acknowledges both as well as others before them... so, don't you think that the origin would have to be the same... unless of course you do not believe in any religion or messenger of God... which is a totally different story.
