God's messages, especially about salvation (which is the most important one) in the bible are crystal clear. You need no companion guide or books to understand it. No one that truly knows the bible would ever suggest that you have to read anything else but it to understand it! And as a Jewish Christian, I personally tell people to read the bible alone, and make your own evaluation and opinion of it, without anyone effecting it! And most Christians I know have the same attitude about it! So I am not sure why you think the vast majority of Christians and Jews take the attitude that you need some companion study guide, or another person to help you. When you read it, have an open mind and heart, and I will guarantee you will get the message loud and clear directly from God, if you want it! Read it and ask God for it! And if you ask another person to help, they probably will lead you astray. Because people tend to make errors! We are imperfect! God is perfect! The book is understandable on its own. Whether you choose to believe or not is another story! I have suggested another thread for any other faith discussions (ie- Understanding Christianity, Judiasm, Adi Da, etc) other than Islam, many, many times to others. I do this because I do not want to get away from the true intention of thread, to discuss Islam, The Message. It is out of respect for the thread creators, and all others here that want to read about Islam. They do not necessarily want to hear about the bible, Christianity or Judiasm, new age religions, etc. And we will go so far away from what we are trying to figure out here if we start discussing the bible, I do not want to even try it! So if you truly want to discuss it, maybe you want to start another thread, like "Understanding Holy Scriptures" or "Understanding the Bible" ,or something like that. God Bless, IGIT
