No, more like they put us in our place, we are their puppets. The recent Prince So-Forth (Al Waleed, I think) who tried to donate $10 million to NY wagged his finger and lectured us on how to behave...A bit arrogant and irritating, no?

Yes, arrogant and irritating. But the donation was rejected because of this. That's hardly an example of the US acting as a Saudi puppet.

and this after Bush Sr had us rush to the Middle East to
put American lives on the line to protect Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

So I guess we are puppets of NATO, South Korea, varius balkan states and any other place were we have put US lives on the line to defend another country??

These are the kind of leaders we have: It is our current foreign policy to pay zillions in tribute to OPEC oil,

We buy oil, we don't pay tribute yes we pay an inflated price do to the OPEC cartel but the cartel is less able to inflate the price then we used to be and there isn't any international anti-trust law.

Can you imagine the US or FDR personally continuing to support business interests with Hirohito after Pearl Harbor? US oil opportunists continue to control foreign policy, to the detriment of the American people, so, yes, change is a good idea.

Your analogy is a bad one. Pearly harbour was an attack by Japan on the US. 9/11 was not an attack by OPEC or Saudi against the US. Also it is incorrect to say that US oil companies control US forign policy, or do you mean something else by "oil opporunists", if so please enlighten me as to who you would classify in that category.

Like who? The truth is, we don't need to kowtow to the Saudis to threaten Iraq, or anybody else.

Basically true, but not particuarly relevant since we don't kowtow to the Saudis. Also if we want to actually invade Iraq, or make a credible threat of doing so, we would need somewhere to stage the invasion from. Not that I am advocating an invasion at this time, but if we get support from the other countries in the region any threat we might make will be more credible and thus possibly more effective.
