Shin Bet thwarted assassination attemept on Ben Eliezer

(How long before Israel decided it is time to throw out the trash?)

By Ha'aretz Service

Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said Saturday morning that the Shin Bet security service recently thwarted a Palestinian attempt to assassinate him.

Ben-Eliezer refused to disclose additional details. However, he told Channel Two's Dan Shilon that "no one thought for a minute that I would be exempt from harm."

"As defense minister, I top our 'friends'' list of targets. I am not afraid, but I have become a fatalist," added Ben-Eliezer.

Members of the security service believe that Hamas and other Palestinian groups intend to respond to the killing of senior members of their organizations by assassinating senior Israeli officials.

This estimate was strengthened by the report published in the Jordanian Al-Majd, according to which hours after the assassination of senior Hamas member Muhammad Abu Hanoud, the political and military wings of Hamas decided to react by assassinating a senior Israeli official.

Since the assassination of Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi, warnings of Palestinian intentions of assassinating senior Israelis have increased. These intentions come in response to Israel's policy of targeted killings. Due to the warnings, senior officials have been instructed to refrain from regular customs, and to change their place of sleep more frequently than they have in the past.

Steve,

You have me all wrong.

I am a wife beater and cross-dresser, but no neo-Nazi.

These Neo-Nazis were probably paid by Israeli lobbyists to generate funds for the colony.
