Dorsey delibrately went up to Colas and what ever he said Colas lacked the mental fortitude and non-verbally responded back, a bad and stupid move on his part. It was a calculated move by Dorsey and it worked.

Yeah, Dorsey taunted him, but Colas should have just taunted him back. Bumping him in front of the ref was a bad move.

Grant did a competent job this season with two bad games against SU and Maimi. I suspect the starting QB job could be open next season. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure I agree with this statement. I wish we had started Randall from the beginning of the season. I don't think our record would be any worse; in fact, it may have been better.

I would like to think that the QB position would be wide open next year. But Beamer has an unsettling tendency to go with his seniors even if they are less talented or not playing as well as younger guys.

I like Randall's running and scrambling ability, but IMO, he has not shown the ability to throw downfield. The other two QB's in the system are redshirting. Chris Clifton, who was originally recruited as a receiver, is a tall, thin guy who is also very mobile, and has turned some heads with his moves. I've heard rumors that he may be moved back to receiver in the spring. Will Hunt is the other QB who is redshirting. He was the #1 high school QB in Arkansas last year. He has shown some ability also, but had a hard time picking up the offense. Who knows which one of the three will emerge as the frontrunner to compete with Noel?

A scarier possibility is that the QB of the future is not in the system right now. This possibility is backed up by the fact that we are still recruiting 3 high school QB's. If none of our current QB's are the QB of the future, that's really disappointing. I think in 2003, we have a chance to have the best team in our history, and I would like to have a QB with some experience at the helm.

If Noel is named the starter next year, we will have a first year starter in 2003. If the QB of the future is not in our system now and instead is still in high school, then again, we will have a first year starter in 2003.

My ideal scenario is that Randall would be moved to Rover next year, and Chris Clifton starts at QB. That way Clifton would be a 2nd year starter in 2003.

Most awesome performance by the defense in the second half that I have ever seen in a Tech team......Whitticar and Austin were awesome...Pugh put McKenzie #78 out of the game for Miami, early on...completely shut down Shockey in the second half...Dorsey, absolutely would not tuck the ball down and run the ball..he knew he would be put out of the game..Pile...was driving running backs straight back..those corners were out there on an island alone all day playing one on one....just an awesome performance...then I get home and Va Tech had a 16 point halftime lead on #9 Virginia and lost that one ....two of the greatest losses in school history...NEVER BEEN MORE PROUD in two losses....great way to go Gatoring....
