Don't they use these pines for 2 x 4s though. What's wrong with using the purple stained 2 x 4s as the vertical studs in inside walls and use fir where you need more strength. Come up with a new grade PSP, Purple Stained Pine. Make it patriotic for Canadians to buy this cheap lumber and sell the Americans the expensive stuff. After all you can buy finger jointed 2 x 4s for verticals. just cut and send PSP out in 8 foot chunks.
